Africa Institute on Internal Displacements (AfIID) is a regional Africa wide, pan-African internal displacements think tank which exists to promote research, advocacy, capacity strengthening and solidarity on climate change displacements, conflict displacements and development-induced displacements in Africa. AfIID is organized around 3 major forums that are: (i) Climate Displacements Forum, (ii) Conflict-induced Displacements Forum, and (iii) Forum on Development-induced Displacements. These Forums are safe spaces for robust debate, engagement, advocacy and solidarity on internal displacements in Africa

To be a leading think tank that influences policies and practices addressing internal displacement in Africa, ensuring the rights and dignity of all displaced persons are upheld.
Mission
To conduct research, advocate for policy changes, and provide a platform for dialogue on climate change, development-induced, and conflict displacements, fostering sustainable solutions for affected communities.
Objectives
- Research: To produce high-quality usable and credible research on the causes, impacts and solutions of internal displacement in Africa.
- Advocacy: To influence policymakers and stakeholders to prioritize the needs of IDPs in national and regional agendas in order to promote justice for IDPs.
- Capacity Strengthening: To empower local organizations, communities and actors with knowledge, skills, information and tools to address displacement issues effectively.
- Solidarity: To stand in solidarity with IDPs across Africa and promote broader regional solidarity for and across IDPs in Africa.
